S.S.A.A. IPSWICH BRANCH INC. has been based at Ripley Sth. since the 70's.
We are a friendly and family orientated club, we take pride in ourselves that we try to make all persons who attend our range are looked after and go home with a positive attitude about our range.
We have over 3000 members, made up of Men, Ladies and Children, from all sorts of back grounds.
We do have different types of shooting ranges.
Our Main Range: Consists of a rifle range that has a 25, 50mtr & 100yd, 200yd and a 300yd range.
Also a covered firing line with 20 benches, and also standing posts at each bench.
Also it has a 200mtr Rifle & Pistol range for Metallic Silhouette competitions.
Pistol Range:
Consists of a 100, 50 & 25mtr ranges that we use for a variety of competitions or for practicing, also we have an under cover firing line, we also have a 25mtr turning target system for certain comps, and also a running target system for the N.R.A. Action Match comp.
Shotgun Range: Our shotgun range has manual traps for general shooting, 4 of them are double throwers which you have to pay extra to use them, only $5.00, and we also have a single portable thrower which is free to use, to use these traps you will need someone to throw for you.
We also have automatic traps for competitions only, so if you want to give them a go come out on comp days and have a go, you will be most welcome.
Also the only shot size you can use on this range is 6 or higher, any shot size less than 6, this includes slugs, b.bs etc. need to be shot on the rifle range.

The positive thing about shooting is that the whole family can participate, dad, mum and the kids can stand side by side and compete against each other in a competition or come out and practice together, to see the kids faces light up when they hit their first bullseye, or even better when they finally beat mum and dad in their chosen competition, it is absolutely priceless
