We do Safety Courses:
A : B Safety Courses,(Rifle) always held once a month, always on a Saturday.
H Safety Courses,(Pistol) always held every 2nd month, always on a Saturday.
Safety course Dates will be published on this site.
Courses always start at 9am (the Instructor likes everyone to be here 15mins before he starts the course)
Also for us to issue you with a Competency Certificate you will need a U.S.I.number, if you do not have a number you will need to go to the Internet, type in usi.gov.au and register for a number, it takes about 10mins, at the end of the process it will issue you with a number, you need to bring that number with you.
The courses could last most of the day, so you shouldn't make any other appointments till after 5pm.
Prices
S.S.A.A. members $70.00
Non members $90.00
Junior members $35.00 (which includes 12 mth. free membership to S.S.A.A. Juniors need to be 11yrs or older to sit the course).
Also everyone needs to have photographic I:D. this includes Juniors,( Juniors who do not have School I:D's, or any type of I:D,can use a recent photo of the child, and the parent endorses it on the back
writing That this a true and correct photo (writing the child's name and D.O.B.) will be sufficient to use as photographic I:D.
We also sell food and drinks at the range, or we have fridges where you can bring your own food if you like.
Also people who wish to join the Pistol Section and do not have any type of shooting licence will need to fill out a QP0515 form (Fit and Proper Person),you need to fill it out, but you must take it to a Police Station and sign the form in front of a Police Officer, and the Police will send it to Weapons Licensing who will do a security check on you, and if they are satisfied they will send you a Statement of Eligibility, which you then have 3mths to give it to the club you wish to belong to.
Please be careful when you take your form to the Police station, if they want to charge you for a security check, you need to tell them that they have to send the form to Weapons Licensing and it is a free charge.
